Variable: dirvish-default-layout

dirvish-default-layout is a customizable variable defined in dirvish.el.

Value

(1 0.11 0.55)

Documentation

Default layout recipe for Dirvish sessions.

The value has the form (DEPTH MAX-PARENT-WIDTH PREVIEW-WIDTH).

- DEPTH controls the number of windows displaying parent directories, it
can be 0 if you don't need the parent directories.
- MAX-PARENT-WIDTH controls the max width allocated to each parent windows.
- PREVIEW-WIDTH controls the width allocated to preview window.

The default value provides a 1:3:5 (approximately) pane ratio. Also see dirvish-layout-recipes in dirvish-extras.el.

Alternatively, set this to nil to hide both the parent and preview windows. In this case, '(1 0.11 0.55) will be used as the fallback full-frame recipe. This is useful when you want to use dirvish exclusively for directory entries without dired or similar commands, and want to prevent the preview from appearing at startup. You can still use dirvish-layout-toggle or dirvish-layout-switch to display the full-frame layout when file previews are needed.
