Documentation

Whether to send the Emacs process ID to the ECA server.

When non-nil, the server uses it to detect when Emacs exits and shut down automatically. Set to nil to omit it, e.g. when running the server independently of Emacs.

Set to nil when running the server inside a sandbox that hides or remaps the host PID (firejail, bubblewrap, jai, containers); in those setups the server's parent-process watchdog would otherwise see an invalid PID and shut down right after startup. Pair this with eca-process-wrapper-function for a fully sandboxed setup.
