ghostel-line-mode-use-bash-completion is a customizable variable defined in ghostel-line-mode.el.

Whether to layer bash programmable completion onto line-mode `TAB'.

When non-nil, bash-completion-capf-nonexclusive is prepended to ghostel-line-mode-completion-at-point-functions at completion time. The capf is non-exclusive, so when bash returns no candidates the standard comint stack still runs.

- auto (default): enable when the bash-completion package
  loads cleanly; do nothing when it isn't installed.
- t: require it; signal an error if it is missing.
- nil: never use it.

The bash-completion package spawns a hidden bash subprocess that sources the user's startup files, so registrations like
"complete -F _git git" become available — TAB after "git
checkout " lists branch names, etc.
