ghostel-module-auto-install is a customizable variable defined in ghostel-module-install.el.

What to do when the native module is missing at first interactive use.

This setting is consulted only when the user invokes an interactive entry point such as M-x ghostel (ghostel), not when ghostel.el is loaded or byte-compiled - loading the file never prompts or downloads.
`ask' - prompt with a choice to download, compile, or skip (default).
`download' - download a pre-built binary from GitHub releases.
`compile' - build from source via ghostel-module-compile.
nil - do nothing; the user must install the module manually.
