ghostel-readonly-default-mode is a customizable variable defined in ghostel.el.

Which read-only mode gestures and commands enter by default.

- copy (default): ghostel-copy-mode.
  Pauses redraws - the buffer is stable while you look around.
- emacs: ghostel-emacs-mode. Terminal output keeps streaming.

Followed by ghostel-readonly-enter, hyperlink navigation and every trigger option left at its default setting: ghostel-mouse-drag-input-mode, ghostel-mark-activation-input-mode, ghostel-point-leave-input-mode, ghostel-prompt-navigation-input-mode. Set one of those to override this choice for that trigger only.
